Movies for Research-Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who joined us at the historic Riverview Theater in Minneapolis for "Movies for Research: Scott Stafne ALS Research Fund" on December 9th. Thanks to you, we reached our goal of raising $100,000 for the Scott Stafne ALS Research Fund by the end of 2008. This is an amazing accomplishment, one we set out to achieve in 2004, and you made it happen! You can still help...simply make a donation to the Scott Stafne ALS Research Fund online.

Stafnes in the Press

Our New Year's Eve tradition is featured in the MDA/ALS Newsmagazine this winter.

We appeared in a segment on Twin Cities Live in August to promote the 2008 MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon to be held Labor Day weekend. See the video of our 2007 MDA Telethon appearance online now too, if you missed it last summer.

ALS TDI Leadership Summit

In November, we attended the ALS TDI Leadership Summit in Boston. Scott spoke at the conference and was awarded the Stephen Heywood Patients Today Award, quite an honor. Check out our photos from the weekend.

Update! Scott shot a few segments for the new ALS TDI Ambassador Program introduction video, now available. Kirsten even makes a cameo appearance in the hallway and elevator scenes.

Also, we made the front page of the new ALS TDI website!

What kind of world do you want?

We had the honor of meeting John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting and Augie Nieto at the 2007 MDA Telethon in September. Augie is an amazing man and provides the inspiration, emotion and financial backing behind much of the amazing ALS research happening today.

An easy way for you to help is to watch some of these inspiring videos. It's free, and for each video you watch in its entirety, $1 will be donated to ALS research.

Hint: Look for Scott and our family in two of the videos!
